Wild Pigs Struck Again

I just returned from going out to check on seedlings. Unfortunately, not many survived the herd of pigs that apparently have taken up foraging out there. Between the neighbor’s escaping cows and the wild roaming swine, it’s making things difficult for my nursery. I’m going to need additional fencing.

There probably aren’t going to be enough surviving seedlings to ship any bare-roots out this fall.

In the meantime, I’ll work on fortifying the nursery perimeter and try this again next year. The pigs even decimated the Virginia snakeroot and now there are only a few left of those. I didn’t have many to begin with, but the ones still standing are only 5. None of those have seeds on them.

So, if you were waiting to order bare-root, there won’t be any. If you had already ordered and paid, I’ll refund your payment shortly unless you want to hold it as reservation for next fall.
